Diabetes Research Scientist Itzia Iglesias’ Letter to her Young Self March 9, 2012

Itzia Iglesias is a staff scientist at the City of Hope Hospital, located north of Los Angeles in California. She performs basic and clinical research on diabetes. She received her Bachelors degree in molecular biology from Florida Institute of Technology and a Masters degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Florida International University.

To My Younger Self:

Never let anyone tell you, “it can’t be done”. You are capable of great things. Use your mind, your heart, and your inner strength to get you through the tough times. Always appreciate what you have because it may not always be there.
